Apartment industry software company AppFolio has introduced FolioSpace, a new product described as “a next-generation resident experience” that enhances the efficiency, quality, and value of interactions between residents and property managers, as stated in an Oct. 23 press release.
The company, with over 20,000 property management customers, has also acquired LiveEasy to enhance its approach to renter services. LiveEasy, initially a relocation management solution, has evolved into a comprehensive lifestyle services application.
“By vertically integrating LiveEasy and offering its services as part of FolioSpace Resident Onboarding, AppFolio will reduce the stress of moving, deliver increased convenience, and save renters time and money,” the release stated.
FolioSpace is designed to enhance the renter’s living experience from the application stage, ensuring faster decision-making through accurate and comprehensive data verification and processing.
Approved tenants can expect a modern onboarding and move-in process with a “configurable digital checklist to streamline leasing and welcome new residents,” along with access to savings and dedicated support in setting up utilities, internet, cable, and moving services through the LiveEasy integration.
The Resident Services Marketplace will provide users with a vendor database, while the Resident Inbox will serve as a hub for property communications, housing maintenance requests, leasing inquiries, payment details, and other resident needs.
These new services will also rely on Realm-X, AppFolio’s multifamily housing operating system that streamlines daily activities for institutional apartment owners, private landlords, and management offices of all sizes.
Realm-X offers personalized automation at the user level, described by Will Moxley, senior vice president of product at AppFolio, as “an additional pair of hands.” Moxley highlighted how Realm-X helps streamline daily operations, allowing customers to focus on growth and productivity.
Venkatesh Ganapathy, CEO of LiveEasy, formerly known as MoveEasy, expressed alignment with AppFolio’s mission and vision in the acquisition.
“LiveEasy’s mission is to provide surprisingly simple moving and living experiences that combine technology and human touch for renters and homeowners,” said Ganapathy. “With AppFolio’s commitment to innovation and expansive footprint, we believe this combination will propel that mission and exceed the expectations of both current and new customers.”
Inman had reviewed LiveEasy, previously MoveEasy, in 2017 and throughout its evolution, praising the digital efficiencies it brought to the emotional process of moving.
AppFolio’s growth in the multifamily software sector reflects a broader trend of increased investment in multifamily-focused software, potentially influenced by the slower single-family housing market. With renters staying in their leases longer, landlords and property managers are turning to technology solutions like AppFolio to enhance the quality of stay and ensure tenant renewals.
“We envision a world where living in communities feels magical and effortless, freeing people to thrive,” said Chris Womack, chief growth officer of AppFolio.
Incorporating LiveEasy into AppFolio’s robust platform with FolioSpace signifies a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering unparalleled value and experiences to our property management clients and the residents they support. This strategic move emphasizes our dedication to enhancing our services and providing exceptional solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Email Craig Rowe for further information.
