The Freshman Summer Success Program (FSSP) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is a comprehensive academic and residential summer initiative designed to support incoming first-year students in their transition to college life. FSSP offers three distinct pathways—FSSP Explore, FSSP International, and Summer Bridge—each focused on enhancing academic confidence, earning UCI credits, and fostering community before the fall quarter begins.

Participating in FSSP provides students with the opportunity to:
- Earn 6–8 UCI units during Summer Session II (August 4 – September 10, 2025)
- Reside on campus for six weeks in Middle Earth Towers (Quad)

Choose Your Pathway
1. FSSP Explore
This pathway is open to all incoming freshmen and includes 6 units of coursework, residential experience, and workshops on study skills, career planning, and wellness.

Designed for international first-year students, this pathway facilitates the transition to U.S. academic culture and encourages connections with both domestic and international peers.

3. Summer Bridge (Scholarship Available)
Geared towards first-generation and income-eligible students, Summer Bridge offers an 8-unit academic load and personalized support through SSI counselors and mentors.

Attend an FSSP Info Session
Interested students and families are encouraged to participate in virtual or in-person information sessions on various dates.

How to Apply
Applications should be submitted online through the UCI FSSP Portal. Students must select one pathway, and attendance at SPOP 6 (Student Parent Orientation Program) is mandatory for all FSSP participants.
