Air fryers are incredibly versatile and moneysaving, costing less to run than an oven or grill and requiring less time to cook. You can even bake or roast in some, too!
There are so many on the market, though, that it’s hard to decide which is best for you. The MoneyMagpie team and product testers have put a bunch through their paces, to whittle down the list and find the best air fryers of 2024. Many of these models are currently on sale too – so if you know someone who has been intending to get on the air fryer train, now’s a good time to buy in time for Christmas.
Haier I-Master Series 5 Air Fryer 5L Single Basket (£149.99 currently £69)
A compact single basket air fryer, the Haier Air fryer is perfect for a single household or couple, with the 5 litre basket the perfect size for cooking a couple of portions.
The top buttons are digital LED, making it easy to see when switched on, and our product tester didn’t even need to read the manual to get started it was that easy! With several functions, including air fry, grill, roast, bake and even dehydrate and defrost, this is a truly multipurpose air fryer that combines several appliances into one. It’s compact size makes it perfect for small kitchens.
When running, you can hear a small noise just like you do with the fan in your oven, but it’s not disturbing at all. The air fryer will beep halfway through the set time to remind you to check on the cooking and shake the basket to avoid things sticking. Once the timer is done, it automatically shuts off, too – so there’s no burning when you forget your dinner!
Our product tester found the dishwasher safe basket made it super easy to clean, but did find using both silicone or greaseproof liners helped to make it easier to remove food from the deep basket when it’s done.
Vonhaus Fika 5L Air Fryer (RRP £64.99 currently £54.99)
The Vonhaus Fika 5L Air Fryer is a gorgeous addition to any kitchen with its Scandinavian style design, the cream outer is set off by a wooden handle so it’s fashionable as well as functional.
And functional it is, with ten preset programmes that our product tester said made cooking incredibly easy. The auto-shut off function was appreciated too, allowing our tester to remove and check cooking progress at any time safely, with the cooking cycle restarting once the basket is safely back in place.
Ideal for a single person or couple, this is large enough to cook a couple of portions easily. The preset programmes made it easy to cook things like meat, fish, veggies, and chips – but our tester found it helpful that you can also set your own time and temperature. The cook is even, working well on everything from courgette fritters to frozen oven chips. It’s easy to clean, too – just wash the basket with hot soapy water and the outside can be wiped down with a cloth.
HYSapientia 24L Digital Large Air Fryer Oven 10-In-1 Toaster Oven (RRR £199, currently £159.99)
This trendy stainless steel air fryer is a great addition to your kitchen if you’re looking for an attractive, substantial but comparatively lightweight air fryer.
We got one to review and we’re very impressed with it.
It is a multifunction All-In-One – air fryer oven toaster with small volume and high energy (toast, cake/bake, fish, dehydration, chicken/grill, french fries/air fry, defrosting, steak, pizza, Rotisserie), with 10 cooking modes that are easy to use.
24l is a very decent size for an air fryer, meaning you can easily cook for a family and maybe even some guests.
The digital knob control system makes it easy to accurately set precise times and temperatures so you’re in complete control of the cooking experience.
It comes with 8 accessories for your mini oven (Rack, Crumb Tray, Baking Pan, Oven Rack, Air Fryer Basket, Rotisserie, Oven Gloves, Manual, Cookbook) and is guaranteed for a year.
The rotisserie function was a particular highlight for me. Nothing beats a rotisserie cooked chicken so I was desperate to give this a try, and it didn’t disappoint. Crispy skin on the outside, with juicy chicken that tasted amazing.

It’s fast, heating up instantly with a maximum temperature of 205 degrees Celsius – and you can easily make up to 8 portions, making it perfect for a meal and leftovers for lunch.
Choose from eight presets such as bake, broil, air crisp, and air fry, or set your own temperatures and time. It has an auto shutoff for safety, and operates at a reasonable noise level, too.
