DiVecchio, the former CEO of Las Vegas Realtors, has filed a lawsuit against the organization and former board members, claiming she was wrongfully terminated after medical issues and the disagreement over the ownership of the MLS.
The lawsuit alleges that board members interfered with her contract, defamed her, and breached her contract. This all stemmed from allegations of election tampering last August, leading to a tumultuous year for the organization.
The investigation and subsequent dismissal revolved around the disagreement between DiVecchio and board members regarding LVR’s ownership of the MLS. Details of the specific disagreement were not provided in the complaint.
DiVecchio’s reputation was allegedly damaged after the board leaked details of the investigation to the media prematurely, without giving her due process.
Her contract stated she would serve as CEO until 2032, and she had never received negative reviews during her 25-year tenure with the organization. The investigation, lasting four months, focused on finding cause to terminate her.
Several board members resigned during the investigation, adding to the chaos within the organization. The current composition of the board is not publicly known.
The lawsuit continues to unfold, shedding light on the internal turmoil and power struggles within the Las Vegas Realtors organization.
On February 27, 2024, DiVecchio claimed in her lawsuit that the board members stepped down “to distance themselves from the misconduct and negative attention linked to their actions in the 2024 election, as well as their wrongful treatment of Plaintiff during the LVR Investigation, with the ultimate aim of ousting Plaintiff.” She also mentioned experiencing a medical incident in August during a meeting where she was incapacitated on the floor for a period of time.
During this meeting, DiVecchio alleged that Nguyen expressed his view to the Board that he found the incident unprofessional and went on to say that LVR could not have a CEO with health issues, as per the complaint.
Nguyen did not provide a comment regarding his reported resignation or statements. DiVecchio stated in her complaint that these remarks were under review by the Nevada Equal Rights Commission.
The Nevada Equal Rights Commission declined to confirm the status of their reviews unless compelled by a member of the review panel.
