HKU Hong Kong School of Computing and Data Science Research Internship Programme 2025

The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is currently welcoming applications for its highly anticipated Research Internship Programme 2025. This summer opportunity is tailored for talented undergraduate students in Computer Science, Statistics, and Actuarial Science from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and other overseas universities.

Approximately 50 exceptional students will be chosen to participate in cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of HKU faculty members. Selected interns will receive a stipend of around HK$22,274 to assist them during their stay and research activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

1. Be current Year 2 or Year 3 undergraduate students
2. Major in Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
3. Study at a recognized university in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or other countries
4. Be willing to commit to full-time research work throughout the internship period

Internship Highlights

1. Research Project Matching: Each intern will be paired with a research project supervised by a faculty member whose research interests align with the student’s background.
2. Presentation: At the end of the internship, each participant must present the outcomes of their research project.
3. Daily Interaction: Interns are expected to engage in daily discussions with supervisors and PhD students.
4. Work Commitment: Interns must dedicate full working hours to their research project without taking on any additional part-time or full-time jobs.
5. Stipend Support: Additional discussions with supervisors may provide extra financial support to cover airfare and accommodation for students traveling to Hong Kong.

Visa Requirements
